Game Night Internship - Chicago Steel Hockey Team (Geneva, IL)

The Chicago Steel, United States Hockey League member club, and defending USHL Clark Cup Champions is looking to add to its talented roster to help build the Chicago Steel into one of Chicago’s most recognizable sports franchises.  With new ownership and a new home in Geneva, IL, there's never been a more exciting time to join Chicagoland's only Tier 1 club.

The Steel are seeking hardworking students and recent graduates looking to take the next step in his or her career in the sports industry.  Our staff of gameday interns will gain valuable experience in a variety of areas in the sport and entertainment industry, including but not limited to:

-       Ticket Sales and Box Office Operations

-       Corporate Sponsorship Activation

-       Promotions

-       Marketing/Public Relations/Social Media

-       Merchandise and Retail Sales

-       Media Relations

-       Mascot Performance

-       Broadcast/Video Production

-       Game Night Operations

-       Graphic Design

The successful candidate will be outgoing, willing to actively communicate with fans and fellow staff, willing to get out of his or her comfort zone, be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, and a person that takes great pride in his or work, regardless of the task.

The qualified candidate should have:

-       Ability to attend the majority of home games during the 2017-2018 season.  This will include some nights, weekends and holidays.  It’s important that the candidate is available to work holiday dates including Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Break, Spring Break and other games that may fall outside of the school calendar.  From time to time, gameday interns will be asked to assist in special events and community appearances and will be provided notice in advance of these events.

-       Positive attitude and a willingness to actively engage and interact with Steel fans.

-       The understanding that working in sports is different than being a fan.  This role does not guarantee that you’ll be in a position each night to watch the game.  Many of the roles we offer are behind the scenes and provide little ability to watch hockey while you work.

-       Strong personal and communication skills.  Must possess a proactive, service-oriented mentality that will assist every department with its respective needs.

-       Must be 18 years or older, able to work pro-actively and independently, have a can-do attitude and your own transportation.

This is a part-time position.  The Chicago Steel Hockey Team is an equal opportunity employer.
